Letter from the CEO

Dear friend of the Make-A-Wish Foundation®,

As the new chief executive officer of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Arizona, it is with great excitement that I have the privilege of joining the board of directors, staff, and hundreds of volunteers and wish families, to help bring hope, strength and joy to Arizona children.

In the New Year, we will work diligently as a team to bring excellence and community pride in all of our stewardship and wish-granting endeavors. However, we know we cannot achieve success without your continued involvement and support. We thank you for your continued support, and we invite you to participate in our many activities in 2008 to help grant wishes to the deserving children we serve, children like Carissa.

Carissa is a 15-year-old girl with a passion for theater. Due to a life-threatening medical condition, she has been unable to attend school or to participate in her favorite activities – cheerleading and drama club. Carissa’s one true wish was to see a Broadway musical, and this January, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Arizona made that wish come true. Carissa got a break from doctors, hospitals and treatments, and was whisked away to New York City with her family. Carissa’s mother said she got to do more in that one week than she has in two years! Her favorite activities included shopping, ice skating and of course, seeing a real Broadway show, The Wiz.

If you would like to contact me, feel free to call me at 602-395-9474 or send an email to rdunn@wishaz.org. My door is always open for those who love, care for, and support the mission of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Thank you again for all you do to help put a smile on a child’s face. Best wishes to you and yours for a prosperous and happy New Year.

Warm regards,
